Tierra Medicina Colorado
Our Tierra Medicina Colorado programs center local Spanish-speaking communities, offering opportunities to connect with the land through learning its history, ecosystems, and bioregional healing foods and herbs.
We support and create spaces for local BIPOC communities to heal by deepening their connection with the land we live on.
We believe that climate resilience efforts led by local and Native communities have a long-lasting, transformative impact.
Tierra Medicina Colorado Initiatives
Estudio Comunitario sobre Resiliencia Climática
In January of 2026 Campesino Commons launched a climate equity project in collaboration with the Boulder County Climate Equity Fund. The objective of this project is to elevate and listen to the voices of Spanish-speaking communities in Boulder County, recognizing how we contribute to the care of the earth and resiliency in the face of climate change. This project is based on participatory methodologies, community collaboration, and respect for the knowledge and experience of our communities, and will connect community members as well as equip us to do research in service of strategic climate resiliency planning. We’re currently building a core research team, and if you want to be involved in larger community trainings and circles please email bianca@campesinocommons.org.
Funding for this project provided in part by the Boulder County Climate Equity Fund. Any views expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of Boulder County.
Tierra Medicina Retreat
A immersive retreat centering multigenerational BIPOC Spanish-speaking and bicultural communities to reconnect with land, culture, and community.
Through guided experiences, participants explore local ecosystems, ancestral knowledge, and bioregional foods and herbalism. The retreat honors the history of original land stewards while offering space for storytelling, healing practices, and connection with the Earth.
Rooted in the belief that land-based healing and community-led climate resilience create lasting change, Tierra Medicina nurtures relationships with nature, self, and each other.
Through guided activities, the retreat explores the history of the original land stewards, local ecosystems, ancestral knowledge, and bioregional herbalism. Participants engage in storytelling, land-based practices, and healing rituals that deepen their relationship with the Earth and honor traditional wisdom.
Community Healing Micro-Grants
We are currently working towards providing small grants to local BIPOC cooperatives and individuals whose work centers healing through connection with the Earth.
Urban Farm Project
We are actively seeking land access to establish a small urban farm. This space will host programs focused on food as medicine, medicinal plants, and traditional medicine-making. It will also serve as a hub for community education around local climate resilience and ecological healing.
